Studying English in Cambridge

Study English in CambridgeCambridge is the proud home of the famous university which in turn is home to the rowing club, Cambridge University Boat Club. The club race against the Oxford University Boat Club is an annual race set upon the River Thames. This is a famous boat race and has been taking place since the year 1829.

The River Cam is the body of water running through the city of Cambridge. The river is used for boating and also for punting, this is carried out in shallow water and the boat is transported via a large pole that pushes against the bed of the river.

There are numerous guided tours available for visitors to ensure that they learn about the historical side of the city and for a bit of fun there are ghost tours run at night. The ghostly tours commence on the river and then take visitors through the streets of Cambridge to the colleges.

The city of Cambridge is alive with music and drama. There is a Strawberry Fair which offers ethnic foods and music and during the summer the city holds a Shakespeare Festival, there are several other music and film events occurring throughout the year.
