Studying English in Edinburgh
Edinburgh is a thriving city and is very often thought of as one of the most picturesque cities throughout the whole of Europe. The city has been Scotland's capital city since the year 1437. An ancient building that has dominated Edinburgh's skyline for many centuries is the castle, it sits elevated on top of Castle Rock and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Edinburgh. Castle Rock is actually an extinct volcano, which is believed to have risen approximately 360 million years ago.
Located in the shadow of the spectacular Edinburgh Castle lies the Princes Street Garden, this is a park that is open to the public. The park was designed in the 1820's and is the proud host of many monuments and statues.
One of the more ornate ones is the Ross Fountain. It is constructed from iron and was built in the 19th century; the fountain displays mermaids and females defining poetry, science, industry and the arts.
If you love animals then you will love Edinburgh Zoo. They are especially concerned about conservation issues and are endeavouring to help many endangered species. Edinburgh Zoo is the only zoo throughout Britain to house both koalas and polar bears.
The city of Edinburgh has a wonderful selection of shops making it a shopper's paradise. There are boutiques, upmarket department stores and little markets, something to suit every taste and each wallet!

School info: The EAC Language School has between 6 - 15 teachers and generally around 60 -300 students. There is a big common room available providing a tv, dvd, books, magazines and drinks. There is also a garden to relax in.
