Hastings is a town located along the coast of East Sussex and it is most famously known for the Battle of Hastings which occurred on the 14th October 1066. Studying English in Hastings
The town of Hastings is steeped in history and one place on any visitor's list should be Hastings Castle, this was Britain's first Norman castle to be built and was done so by William the Conqueror. Visitors can gain an insight into what actually took place by watching a 20 minute audio-visual programme covering the conquest and the castle's history.
Hastings is also home to the Blue Reef Aquarium where visitors can marvel at the creatures from the deep including sharks, jellyfish, crabs and seahorses. The aquarium is one of the few involved in the breeding and conservation of seahorses and jellyfish. If you pay a visit to their sea-life nursery you will discover baby jellyfish and seahorses.
If you enjoy shopping then you will love the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre in Hastings, there are 53 shops and cafes altogether in the complex from designer clothing stores to perfumeries.
