The International House Newcastle has approximately 50 years of experience gained from teaching in 40 different countries throughout the world. The school's speciality is in communication and they have learnt over the years to observe things from another person's perspective.

They offer a wide range of English courses held at varying levels. When students first arrive at the complex they will be tested by means of a written placement test paper and also an oral interview. The academic director will then base his information on these tests to ascertain what level to place the student in.

Students can opt for either 10 or 20 hours per week and the classes are generally small with a maximum of 12 students per class. There are report cards issued throughout the English course to monitor the student's progress and then a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
