The International House in Vancouver offers a selection of methods when it comes to learning English at their school. Their teaching policy is to use a student based communicative approach concentrating on the basic skills of English including speaking, reading, listening and writing. If students discover that they have a particular interest in a field such as reading or if they feel that they require extra tuition in an area then a study program can be arranged.

All the students receive a report regarding their progress and this includes feedback and comments from their teachers, upon successful completion of the course they receive a certificate. International House offers 4 options of studying semi-intensive, semi-intensive plus, intensive and intensive plus.

The 'plus' programs offer students the opportunity to participate in an English oral class. The school also offers programs for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.
