There are 5 boroughs altogether these are The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. New York is the most densely populated of the major cities throughout America.

New York has several famous landmarks one of which is the Statue of Liberty or to give her the formal title that she possesses Liberty Enlightening the World. The statue was presented to the USA by the residents of France in the year 1886. She stands on Liberty Island in the harbour of New York and graciously welcomes visitors and returning fellow Americans who are travelling by ship. Wall Street is a street situated in Lower Manhattan it was the initial home of the New York Stock Exchange. The year 1931 saw the completion of the Empire State Building; this stands 102 storeys high and is the USA's second tallest skyscraper and the ninth tallest throughout the world.

You would be forgiven in thinking that New York City is a concrete city filled to the brim with building upon building but you would be wrong. There is an oasis located in the city in the form of Central Park which covers 843 acres and attracts approximately 25 million visitors every year.

A survey completed in the year 2005 showed that over 170 languages were actually spoken in New York City.
