Studying English in Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara is often referred to as the 'American Riviera' due to the stunning beaches and majestic mountains. The city of Santa Barbara is approximately an hour's drive from Los Angeles.
Santa Barbara is nestled between the breathtaking Santa Ynez Mountains and the dramatic Pacific Ocean. The mountains add a stunning backdrop to the city.
The Mission Santa Barbara was founded in the year 1786 and is the only mission to remain under the leadership of Franciscan Friars since the day of its founding. It still serves the community as their parish church and it also boasts a delightful gift shop, a museum and a retreat house.
One of the city's oldest parks is Alameda Park and it contains some very rare species of trees, a gazebo and is the proud home of Kid's World which is an 8,000 square foot play area for children. The area was built by the local residents and consists of a castle, slides and various swings. There is even a 'Whale Site' which is a picnic area and can also be booked for private parties and functions.
