Studying Italian in Firenze
Firenze can be a difficult location for those individuals who are not keen on crowds as it can become very busy especially during the summer months however that said there is usually a quieter corner of the city to be discovered somewhere.
The attraction is the city's classic culture and history as it is steeped in it. The most dominant and impressive of Firenze's buildings is the majestic Basilica di Santa del Fiore, the city's cathedral. Construction was started on the cathedral in the year 1296 and built to the Gothic style of the designer Arnolfo di Cambio. The cathedral was completed in the year 1436.
During the year of 1982 Firenze was declared a World Heritage Site due to the importance of the entire city's cultural heritages.
Winding its way through the old part of the city is the River Arno. The river and the locals of the city have endured a love / hate relationship for years because although the river has undoubtedly nourished Firenze with commerce it has also, sadly flooded the city.
With all the culture and history contained within the city of Firenze it is no wonder that it is a popular destination for students to study the native language of Italian.
